God Brahma

Brahma embodies creation. Born in a lotus flower, emerging from the umbilical cord of Vishnu, Brahma has four crowned heads and four arms. He holds the four Vedas in his hands. His mount is a swan, and his wife is Saraswati.

Despite its hierarchical importance, Brahma is little revered by the Hindus. Only one temple is truly dedicated to him throughout India: in Pushkar, in Rajasthan.
