FAQ of the colossus of Rhodes

FAQ on the Colossus of Rhodes

Where was the Colossus of Rhodes?

It was on the port of the city of Rhodes, on the island of the same name. Contrary to the usual representations, this gigantic statue did not cross the entrance of the port, it would not have been possible. It is more likely that it was a little removed from the entrance of the port, clearly visible but not blocking the passage of maritime traffic.
