Copies of the Egyptian pyramids

There is not a large amount of copies of the Egyptian pyramids in the world, even if we consider that there are more than 150 pyramids that actually exist.

It must be said that on all these pyramids, only the three of the Giza plateau, the pyramid of Djoser and possibly the rhomboid pyramid are really known, the others are not enough to be reproduced elsewhere in the world. And besides, there is little reason to reproduce these monuments. As much for the statue of Liberty, there is an interest in multiplying the copies (it symbolizes freedom, precisely), as the pyramids of Egypt does not really symbolize something strong. And then we must say that the very geometric form of these pyramids is not particularly impressive, it is the size that is. To reproduce in small these pyramids does not have too much interest ...

However there are still some replicas elsewhere in the world. Most are in amusement parks replicating in small monuments of the World. The pyramids of Egypt are rarely the most represented, but they are still quite often. Apart from these parks, there are some private individuals who have built replicas.

This list is obviously not exhaustive, but it is important to establish a limit to the attempt of reproduction. This list takes into account only the exact reproductions of the pyramids as well as those whose inspiration is obvious, but it does not include all the pyramids of the world, the list would be impossible to establish.

Here is this list, classified alphabetically by country.

Park Minimundus

Park Minimundus

Park Minimundus Meckenbeuren Germany Park presenting the miniature monuments of the world, Minimundus shows us a rather well made pyramid of Khafra, in particular the detail of the stones. It seems a little too regular, but at least it is well phased, which represents the reality of the pyramid of Khafra, Cairo. The Sphinx, in front, is not as realistic, especially as its color pulls too much on the brown, while the pyramid is too golden.

Beijing world park

Beijing world park

Beijing world park Pekin China Park presenting the miniature monuments of the world. The pyramid reproduced is that of Khafra, the remains of the calcareous plates which covered the original were reproduced. This massive pyramid looks pretty successful.

Window of the world

Window of the world

Window of the world Shenzhen China Much more ambitious than Beijing Park, Window of the word presents the Pyramids of the Giza Plateau on a more appropriate terrain. This park is in the city center.

Jeju Soingook Theme park

Jeju Soingook Theme park

Jeju Soingook Theme park South Korea South Korea has two miniature parks. That of Jeju Soingook province presents two of the three pyramids of the Giza plateau and the Sphinx, but all lack of resemblance. If the pyramids have this typical degradation of the ravages of time on the real pyramids, the assembly of the stones is too regular for the resemblance to be acceptable. The little pyramid is very curious, with this point and this great opening. As for the Sphinx, his face is really too small for his body. And to top it off, the colors are more reminiscent of the limestone pyramids of Central America than Egyptian.

Aiins world

Aiins world

Aiins world Seoul South Korea This second park of South Korea is not very different from the first, as regards the quality of reproduction of the pyramids of Egypt: It is rather missed. The general forms are there, as well on the Sphinx as on the great pyramid, but it is a pity that one sees as much the construction, the assembly of the plates which forms the pyramid. We can imagine that the photo was taken during the construction, so do not be too demanding here.

Hurghada Mini Egypt

Hurghada Mini Egypt

Mini Egypt Hurghada Egypt And yes, Egypt had to have a miniature park. This is only fair, given the large number of ancient monuments that this country has. This park is in Hurghada, on the coast of the Red Sea, and has a nice row of three pyramids of the Giza plateau ... A little too new to make true ...

Las Vegas Hotel

Las Vegas Hotel

Las Vegas Hotel Las Vegas United States It is perhaps the best-known reproduction in the world. It must be said that this hotel in Las Vegas does not denote in the landscape of this amazing city where you cross both the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower.

Menphis arena

Menphis arena

Menphis arena Menphis United States When the city of Menphis, in Tennessee, wants a new concert / sports hall, it does not do in half measure. The city has chosen to replicate the pyramid of Khufu in large! Its interior is a show hall of great capacity, but its appearance has everything of the pyramid of Egypt, hence its presence in this list.

Maison à Wadsworth

Maison à Wadsworth

Maison Wadsworth United States It is in the city of Wadsworth, in the United States, that a particular lover of ancient Egypt built a pyramidal house and covered it with 24 carat gold. And yes, in the United States, we can see that! Curiously the owner told strange phenomena that took place in his house, like plants that grew much faster than expected. All this made him move, but he kept his house as a second home that he now visits.

Eco park

Eco park

Eco park Kolkata India With its strong economic development India also has important leisure facilities, the eco park found in Kolkata is one of them. There are three pyramids and a Sphinx that are intended to be copies of the Giza monument. In reality, these reproductions are not really faithful, with materials that we see the assembly and sharp shapes that do not correspond to reality. Not to mention this very original big door, which does not seem a priori. The Sphinx is very well reproduced.

Tobu world square

Tobu world square

Tobu world square Tokyo Japan This reproduction of the Giza plateau is undoubtedly the most successful of this list. The Japanese have made striking models of truth, with an attention to detail that goes as far as to reproduce the variations of linearity on the edges of the great pyramid of Khafra. The Sphinx is also well reproduced, including its head that is small compared to the body, as is the case in reality.

Miniwelt

Miniwelt

Miniwelt Lichtenstein Lichtenstein Curious reproduction of a pyramid of Egypt than that of the Miniwelt Park. Unless it is still being edited in this photo, the pyramid is still very far from reality and therefore do not deserve to be included in this list. But as it is a park presenting the miniatures of the monuments of the world, one imagines that it is supposed to represent a pyramid of Egypt ...

Park miniatur

Park miniatur

Park miniatur Inwald Poland This pyramid is not meant to be a faithful reproduction, but its truly Egyptian inspiration has made it part of this list. But that's the only reason he's here, of course.

Miniumi

Miniumi

Miniumi Ostrava Czech republic This reproduction is original insofar as it is that of Khafra, not Khufu like this is usually done. It is not very well done, the plates that compose it are far too showy, there is no attention to detail. However, we appreciate the remaining veneer of the summit, which is well reproduced.

Pyramid in Lego

Pyramid in Lego

Pyramid in Lego We can reproduce everything in lego, the proof: Here is the pyramid of Khafra all in small bricks! We do not dare to imagine the amount of bricks it took, but it must be impressive, of course!
